I would really love to learn yoga

Wendy Jean asked:

I love to walk outside but I need an activity I can do indoors when its too cold to walk. I want to lose weight and be healthy, would Yoga be a good thing for that? I have heard it helps you lose weight, then I have heard its mostly for toning and reengerizing your mind and body. Which is it? Or does it do it all? Thanks.

I would love to start doing yoga, but I would want to get some kind of dvd and do it at home. What dvd s good for beginners? Do I need anything else?

I just started doing Yoga 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. My gym also offers a few Pilates classes, but I wanted to know how the classes differ from each other before I tried it out.

I love the smell but always forget to ask the instructor at the end of class. Is it Patchouli or Nag Champa or something else?
i know it depends on the studio and instructor but what is the most common insense burned…

If you live around LI do you know any good places I could go to at a good price or cheap books/videos? In my family no one is energetic like me so they dont know what its like to have really tense muscles. I hear yoga helps relieve tension and stretches all the muscles in the body. Id love to learn and made it my new years resolution too. PLEASE HELPPPP!

I would love for a yoga class to either start at 5 or 5:30–as long as I am done by 7am for time to shower and get to work for 8am. Why is it so difficult for me to find a yoga studio that will accomodate me? I’m in Orange County, California. If anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.

Missy K asked:

I am looking for a great video that will give me a starting point on yoga–as well as videos that will be more advanced. I am terribly shy so at the moment yoga classes are out of the question. Also if you have any information on belly dance, I’d love to hear about it also since I find it very interesting. Thanks! :)

I am interested in becoming a yoga instructor, specifically for prenatal and mommy and me yoga (also known as Itsy Bitsy Yoga in some places). I used to do yoga all the time and I am now getting back into it and my love for it keeps growing. I know it will take a long time, and I am starting by taking regular Hatha Yoga classes, I just want to know the steps I will need to take, and any tips from anyone who has been there.

Trazzy asked:

I have recently taken up yoga and love it! My only problem is that my feet tend to cramp up during the standing portion of the routine. Does anyone know why this happens and what I can do to prevent it? Thanks!
